A further milestone in Mondeo’s ongoing commitment to product quality and safety for drinking water applications: the Idrja and Small check valves, along with the stainless steel manifolds, have obtained ICIM voluntary certification under the scheme “Products and components in contact with water intended for human consumption.”
This certification confirms compliance with DM 174/2004, the Italian regulation that governs the chemical, physical and hygienic characteristics of materials intended to come into contact with water for human consumption. The decree requires manufacturers to self-certify their products‘ compliance before placing them on the market, but it does not mandate third-party verification.
This is where ICIM certification offers added value: as a voluntary certification based on independent assessments, laboratory testing and periodic audits, it provides transparent assurance of the conformity of both materials and production processes.
Recognised by Accredia, ICIM certification represents a quality guarantee for designers, installers and water system operators, and demonstrates a clear commitment to consumer safety and the protection of such a vital resource as water.
This achievement adds to the prestigious international certifications already obtained by Mondeo valves, including WRAS, ACS and NSF — the result of an ongoing focus on quality and transparency.
Mondeo’s stainless steel products continue to prove ideal for use in drinking water distribution systems: corrosion-resistant, hygienic thanks to smooth surfaces, and free from substances that could affect the organoleptic properties of water.
