Co-Engineering

Custom valve development and the value of Co-Engineering

From problem to solution, together

Co-engineering is not just a service: it is a key element of innovation. It is from dialogue with customers and from the response to specific market needs that solutions capable of making a real difference are born. An emblematic case is our check valves: an ever-relevant project, developed to guarantee maximum hydraulic efficiency and, over time, declined into new variants capable of combining product performance with specific customer requirements — all while maintaining design consistency and a vocation for series production.

At Mondeo we work alongside the technical team of our customers to transform a requirement or a system constraint into a concrete, effective and scalable solution, designed to become a stable part of our customers’ production processes. Engineering support and the manufacture of customised valves, manifolds and special fittings make us an ideal partner for the OEM sector.

We start from real requirements and conditions of use to arrive at a product that solves the application problem, meets performance requirements and is suitable for series production in terms of processes, costs and repeatability.

Co-engineering can also include plant engineering support:

  • piping rationalisation
  • reduction of the number of components (both quantity and types)
  • simplification of assembly and maintenance
  • optimisation of the performance / cost ratio

The goal is always the same: technically effective and easy-to-manufacture solutions capable of combining performance and economic sustainability.

Hydraulic engineering and component customisation: an approach born from listening

We work constantly on processes and products to respond concretely to the needs of our customers. There is not only the technical know-how built over decades of experience in fluid handling. Flexibility, dialogue and continuous exchange are equally important conditions for creating products that are perfectly functional for the applications they are intended for. And it is precisely from collaboration that innovation often arises: in design, in the choice of details and in manufacturing technologies.

How does the co-engineering service work?

The service begins with a listening and requirements gathering phase, followed by technical analysis and a solution proposal. It then proceeds with design, optional prototyping, sampling and the transition to industrialisation and final production. Throughout the entire process we maintain continuous and open dialogue with the customer, to ensure choices that are consistent with application, performance and costs.

What are the lead times for custom valves and other products?

Lead times depend on the complexity of the project. In general, from the requirements gathering stage to the completion of the finished product, the process can vary:

  • 4–6 weeks for customisations or projects of limited complexity
  • up to 6 months for developments requiring longer technical processes (extensive prototyping, validations, dedicated industrialisation)

In all cases, we are committed to ensuring fast response times and clear progress, phase by phase.
