Home » Skora air valves: a unique product that benefits from all the advantages of stainless steel
Air valves are a simple but essential product in all hydraulic systems.
Installers know that the air which is naturally present in the system piping before filling must be eliminated to prevent problems of reduced flow rate, damage to the various hydraulic components, and noise.
This is why air valves, which allow the air to escape externally, have to be installed in the upper parts of the system.
There are different types of air valve on the market, usually made of simple or nickel-plated brass. Mondeo, though, has created a unique product made completely of stainless steel.
The idea arose from an internal need: Mondeo wanted an air valve for its electropolishing system that could last over time, avoiding the inconvenience of frequent replacement. This is where the process began to add this type of stainless steel valve, not yet present on the market, to its range.
The strong points of this new product lie in the material used to make it and its special mechanical structure.
Using stainless steel brings multiple advantages, in particular durability, which makes the product very reliable, and wide possibilities of use. As stainless steel is a material suitable for food use, this new air valve can also be used in special environments; the resistance of the material, instead, means the valve can be used in systems that work in heavy-duty or saline environments. Another important point is the smooth surface of the stainless steel, not porous like brass, which increases duration because it does not withhold the impurities that usually damage traditional air valves.
From a construction point of view, Mondeo air valves can be used with vertical systems. This detail makes full use of the thrust force of the water pressure for optimal closing.
Finally, some production details. The valve is available with G ½” female and male threaded connections, different from the majority of air valves on the market that usually only have male connections. The close with four screws makes the valve easy to open for washing, which facilitates maintenance; the cap with internal gasket prevents liquid from escaping even if the vent fails.
