Home » Valves and filters: a new engraving machine to upgrade the product identification process
When a component, like a valve or a filter in our case, is added to a system, it must be identifiable and perfectly traceable. Only a product that gives all the information needed for maintenance and replacement can guarantee efficient system management.
At Mondeo we have always paid great attention to the product engraving phase, looking for increasingly more advantageous solutions for our clients.
With this in mind, a new engraving machine has arrived that will allow us to upgrade the product identification process.
We have chosen to use cutting-edge laser engraving technology instead of the coining or embossing methods used until now.
This new engraving method stands out because of its extremely high levels of precision and definition, making it possible to place more characters on the limited usable space of the product. In this manner more information can be given, resulting in management benefits, such as being able to easily find the product characteristics and manufacturer at any moment.
Previously, the material and nominal diameter were written on each valve and filter. Now, we can add the day, month and year of production, the type of seal and the product code, which can be used to find additional technical details.
The aim of this service is to simplify the operations of our clients, who can easily order a replacement thanks to the identification code, and trace the structural and functional characteristics of the product used.
The pieces are loaded and presented to a robotic arm that photographs their position before they are transferred to the engraving area. The engraving machine receives all the information about the piece position, so the incision is always correct, no matter how the piece is loaded.
The new engraving system will become fully operative within the next few months and will be used with all the valves and in-line filters.
