In the Industry 4.0 environment, renewing the machinery fleet is undoubtedly a fundamental aspect. New systems mean better quality and safety, interconnection with the management system and accurate information about the production process. Without even considering that technological modernisation also means rationalising energy consumption, whereupon reduced costs and above all environmental respect.
Behind this philosophy and a general policy aimed at product quality improvement lies Mondeo’s latest acquisition: a new laser cutting system.
It is a cutting-edge machine, made by an Italian company following specific indications.
The system gives better cutting speed and precision, therefore respect of tolerances. It is suitable for cutting not only round pipes but also square and rectangular ones, and is equipped with a “clean cut” system that avoids the formation of residues inside the pipe.
Another interesting aspect is the cut combination system, which helps rationalise material use.
“The new system is not only very reliable, but also programmable and controllable remotely,” stresses Mondeo’s CEO Nicola Ghiotto. “The digital transformation that continues changing the face of the industrial sector is very stimulating, with consequences on production, but also on relations with suppliers and clients. It is a challenge that Mondeo chose to embrace, together with sustainability: the new system, in fact, allows us to save 40% more electricity than the previous one.”
