Motorised ball and butterfly valves: operation and applications
Among Mondeo’s new products there is also a line of motorised hydraulic valves.
Our ball and butterfly valves, in fact, have an interesting novelty: our clients can now purchase the valves with a pre-assembled actuator.
How does a motorised valve work? A pneumatic actuator is a device that transforms air pressure into movement. As an example, in the case of a butterfly valve, the pneumatic actuator uses the compressed air as an energy vector to mechanically generate a rotary movement that opens or closes the valve.
While manual valves are moved by the system operator, the actuator valve system activates the valve automatically.
Motorised hydraulic valves can be used in numerous applications. In general, we can say that the actuator valve system is suitable for the multiple modern automation needs of industrial and liquid treatment systems. Clearly, a motorised valve with actuator should be chosen when the valve is difficult to reach or if great strength is needed to regulate it, but also for emergency closes.
