Hydraulic manifolds play an important role in contributing to the efficiency of a system. Resistance, aesthetics, and above all reduced head losses are the characteristics that distinguish the Mondeo family of hydraulic manifolds. As well as producing over a thousand codes, we continue to innovate to make products and valves more useful to customers.
This is the case of the latest innovation we have introduced for our stainless steel manifolds , now also available with NPT threaded connections .
The possibility to choose between different types of attachments is an added value in terms of ease of installation and versatility in the design of the systems. An advantage that is added to those brought about by internal and external electropolishing , a process that increases the resistance already typical of stainless steel, and to the results obtained in terms of hydraulic performance, thanks to the thin thickness and Tig welding those limits losses of load.
In the family of Mondeo hydraulic manifolds, we find products available with connections:
When choosing a type of connection, there are several factors to consider, primarily the system pressure or the type of fluid conveyed.
In general, a clamp connection stands out for the extreme ease of assembly and disassembly and for the guarantee of a smooth union. These aspects that are particularly relevant in the food and pharmaceutical sectors. The flanged connection, in addition to being practical, withstands high pressures and is therefore widely used in industrial pipes. The ability to withstand high pressures is the distinctive feature of the Victaulic grooved connection, ideal when a rigid coupling must be guaranteed. Threaded connections represent most hydraulic fittings, by virtue of the speed during assembly and disassembly, whether it concerns maintenance or changes to a project.
The most common threaded connections are gas and NPT . In the United States, Mexico, and Canada, the most used threaded connection is the NPT. Our decision to use this type of connection to enrich the production of manifolds also stems from the desire to provide comprehensive and efficient service to these markets.
The gas-threaded connections are divided into cylindrical and conical and are made respectively according to ISO 228-1 and EN 10226-1. NPT connections are, however, only conical and follow the ANSI B1.20.1 standard. The technical differences mainly concern the thread angle and therefore the pitch: the NPT thread has a thread angle of 60°, instead of the 55° of the GAS thread, and this determines a larger pitch, i.e., a smaller number of threads per inch .
In both cases, the threading processes must be carried out in a workmanlike manner, in order to ensure perfect compliance with the quality requirements . An objective that requires high-precision mechanical processing, obtained with a technologically advanced machine tool park and profound experience in the sector.
