The work on expanding the Mondeo headquarters, which will double the available spaces for the logistics and production areas, began a short while ago. The project construction standards are the same as those of the already-existing building: first, the use of steel because a sustainable material, and second, the search for maximum energy efficiency. The photovoltaic system will be doubled, allowing the company to use renewable energy for its pump heating system instead of methane.
This expansion of the headquarters is an expression of the growth plan that the company will be following for the next few years.
“We are increasing the space because we are aiming at a higher production capacity,” said Mondeo CEO Nicola Ghiotto. “In this manner we want to serve the firmly established markets in an ever better way, and strengthen our presence in markets with a great development potential, for example the United States and Japan.”
What are the foundations of this growth plan?
The starting point was undoubtedly market recognition of the quality of our products. It is a confirmation of trust that encourages us to serve the fluid transport world with more determination and proactivity. If, instead, we look at the base that our plan rests on, you will certainly find responsiveness to requests, product research, appreciation of our human resources.
Mondeo will be celebrating its first 40 years of activity in 2026. How is the company spirit as it approaches this important accomplishment?
Great satisfaction for having developed an innovative concept like hydraulic efficiency. This is shown by the low friction losses, and as such the energy saving, that our products guarantee, as well as our choice to use stainless steel because hygienic, resistant and recyclable. Today, sustainability is one of the most important drivers of growth, but it has always been a part of Mondeo’s DNA.
What do you see in the company’s future?
Constant dialogue with our clients to optimise products and resources, the implementation of new technologies and processes. The future will certainly be characterised by increasingly higher levels of automation and digitalisation. To favour proximity to our clients, we have already activated an online platform – waterfitters.com – to integrate the traditional distribution methodology. From a research point of view, I find it fascinating to imagine how our technical know-how could be used to develop new frontiers, such as the production and management of hydrogen. Most of all, though, I like to think that Mondeo will continue to be a solid company that keeps on developing.
